Essenza
The pleasure of a home is felt in its passages too: where a hand rests, where the eye finds repose.
An alcove, the continuity of wood, the way a curtain lets daylight filter through. Some details become familiar more through the comfort they offer than through their shape. Essenza is imagined with this attentiveness: seeking what makes a gesture more natural, a passage more pleasant, a room able to welcome us even before we have learnt to call it our own.
Small sequences repeat themselves in the life of a home. Looking for clothes, opening a drawer, passing from bedroom to bathroom while we are still sleepy. We would like to give value to these minutes, so often spent already thinking of something else. Tactile materials, considered proportions and soft light can help us feel them, to rediscover our bodies within the things we do every day.
In time we will know where the sun falls in a particular season and which corner stays quietest in the warm hours. Familiarity will grow in this way, through an intimate knowledge made of sensations. This dwelling would like to become the gentle background to that knowledge: to be there discreetly, while life takes shape and leaves its marks.
