Hidden laundry in a bathroom or hallway: dimensions, ventilation and details that prevent noise and damp
The best laundry does not merely disappear from view: it remains accessible, ventilated and quiet throughout daily life.

Concealing appliances, detergents and linen can restore calm to a bathroom or hallway. Yet attractive closed doors are not enough. Appliances create heat, vibration and moisture; hoses, filters and sockets must remain reachable. Quality comes from designing appearance, services and maintenance together.
Design the workflow before the cabinet
Map the route from hamper to washing, drying, folding and storage. Position the doors, baskets and temporary surface around real actions rather than a showroom image.
Appliance depth is not the required depth
Allow for hoses, valves, plugs, vibration, plinths, hinges and door opening. Check the exact technical sheets and draw a measured section before cabinetry is ordered.

Side by side or stacked
Side-by-side machines provide an accessible folding surface; stacking saves width but concentrates weight and raises controls. Use the manufacturer-approved stacking kit and confirm reach for every user.
Ventilation is part of the enclosure
Heat and moisture must escape. Follow the clearances specified for the selected appliances; louvres or high and low openings support airflow but do not replace room ventilation.
Keep services readable and reachable
A side service zone or removable panel should expose water, waste, valves and sockets. Electrical work in damp rooms needs qualified design; extensions hidden behind machines are not a solution.
Treat the cause of vibration
Level the appliance, stabilise the floor and keep the cabinet from touching the machine. Soft door stops may help, but no lining can correct an unstable washer or poor stacking.
Plan for water and maintenance
Protect vulnerable edges, leave a visible inspection point and consider a leak sensor at the low point. Moisture-resistant boards improve durability but do not make cabinetry waterproof.

Lighting, baskets and safe storage
Use accessible sensor lighting, ventilated pull-out baskets and separate clean linen from detergents. Keep chemicals away from children and avoid shelves that are unsafe to reach.
Mini case: a 130-centimetre wall
One stacked column sits beside two pull-out baskets, products and a folding drying rail. A side service strip remains removable; ventilated doors and internal light make the unit calm when closed and practical when open.
Pre-quote checklist
Record the opening, floor, services, sockets and ventilation; provide exact appliance models and stacking kit. Verify delivery access, door swing, filters and future replacement. Price joinery, plumbing, electrics, ventilation and installation separately.
Useful components to consider
Tappetini antivibrazione
Possono limitare la trasmissione delle vibrazioni solo su un pavimento stabile e con macchina correttamente livellata.
