Walk-in wardrobe behind the headboard: dimensions, circulation and light
A secret room can begin behind the headboard, provided the desire for order leaves enough space for body, air and light.

The headboard becomes architecture: it protects sleep, conceals clothes and guides two side passages toward a more intimate zone. The gesture is elegant, almost theatrical. Yet a few lost centimetres or misplaced light can turn the dream into a narrow corridor.
The room needs depth
Add bed, foot clearance, headboard thickness, rear passage and wardrobe depth. If daily movement is compressed, choose a linear wardrobe.
Two passages or one?
Two openings create symmetry but need width. One entrance may release storage. Doors, windows and habits decide.
A technical headboard wall
Integrate sockets, reading lights, switches and fixings before upholstery. The wardrobe side may hold a mirror or shallow storage.
Ventilation and dust
A blind wardrobe needs air change and cleanable surfaces. Do not fill every centimetre without service access.
Light to dress, light to sleep
Wardrobe light should reveal colour; bedside light should remain calm. Separate circuits so dawn routines do not wake the sleeper.
Wardrobe rhythm
Inventory clothes before modules. Sections and heights should follow hanging, drawers, shoes and luggage.
Mini-case
In a long bedroom, a freestanding headboard creates a soft foreground and a warm oak service band behind it.
Checklist
Measure structure, openings and services; verify depth, passages, doors, sockets, ventilation, lighting, storage and installation access.
